  5. Enfim.

  7. Pois, estás a ver, syrin?

    Bjs a todas

  13. The apatride in your midst, who felt so badly betrayed in 2003 when the "New Labour" Prime Minister of the country of his birth lied the land into an unjust war that he (me, not B-liar!) declared himself a political exile here; the 'Little Brother' who observes everything, who can't stop asking 100 questions a day, even after 11 years here, and all those years before looking in from outside; who has a take on all of this slide downwards, backwards, round & round in circles that is so embedded in ignorance & underdevelopemnt of so many forms...there is too much to say, too much going on in and around me with this situation. 41% of 210.000 of a universe of, say, 8 million is not a lot. Contudo, anyone who says "Não façam caso disto, que não vale a pena" is still making a mistake. It is part of a bigger picture that nobody with intelligence among that 8 million should accept with resignation, passivity. Emigration is not the answer - and no, Papalagui, I don't believe it would necessarily make you feel even worse. If it would be motivated by giving up, surrender, it would be wrong. This is all veyr complex, dark. It is the Big Pay-off for the fact that none of the root-causes have ever seriously been addressed. And all the flags, all the cachecois at Cristiano Banaldo time will never turn it around. In fact, they are only making the whole empadão worse.
Me, the aptride? The very instant I first heard of "Grandes Portugueses" last September, my heart and head screamed "ARISTIDES". We registered 3 votes, never wavered, only consolidated it. It was so simple. But it takes knowledge & experience, of MANY things, as well as an urge to see the best in humanity. A de S-M. conformed to every ideal that I aspire to. He embodies the Big Man that Wilhelm Reich inferred when he described so eloquently Little Man - full of hatred, self-hatred, pettiness, poverty - that is not only the Slazars, Hitlers, Stalins, Pinochets of this world, but all those that adore/admire/elevate/worship & follow them. Ifwe need lessons in understanding what "Greatness" means, we do not need to look to lists of kings, queens, politicians, entrepreneurs, comedians, footballers, poets, singers.
It is to be found in the actions of...anyone who puts themselves second, or last, who is prepared to sacrifice everything they have and are for the good of others. Greatness askes for and expects nothing in return. We don't need any title to do that. Maybe that's why we need to "fazer caso disto". E que vale a pena. Little Man has been around always. He is destroying us from within. Always. Little man is the enemy of everyone of us who wishes and believes in BETTER for ALL of us. Love, peace and empowerment to you, L. and loads of kisses as always.

  14. I must add a PS. After writing my mega-comment, we here discussed it all again, me reporting the discussion here & the 6 blog extracts printed in today's 'Público' on the subject. And Ana suddenly taught me this citação from Pessoa:
I'm sure you all know it, but I had never heard it. It wonderfully and simply harmonises and reinforces what I wrote above. I don't, however, know enough of Pessoa's actions to say whether he was as great or greater an individual as Aristides. Do we have to quantify everything? Do we need as much use of the superlative as we get from the 'comunicação social' every single day in Portugal? SXXXX
